Position:
The Finance Clerk is responsible to support the Finance Department for efficient and accurate processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, travel allowances and other related financial documentation and processing for Band Finances and applicable Band Companies. The Finance Clerk will use computerized accounting system to reconcile and produce monthly, quarterly, and other related financial statements and reports. The Clerk will also support the Finance Manager in responding to inquiries from vendors and contractors, governments, and other agencies, and/or businesses pertaining to outstanding accounts and other related financial matters. The Clerk will maintain efficient recording filing systems.

Duties:

  • Accounts Payable and Receivables for all general Band finances including Band owned companies where required.
  • Administrative support for WMFN internal and external contracts.
  • Processing documents including contract payments, contribution agreements, grants, invoices, travel expenses.
  • Responding to internal and external finance concerns in line with WMFN Policies and Procedures
  • Data Entry

Requirements

Education/Experience:

  • Grade 12 completion with a combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Post-Secondary Education in an accredited Bookkeeping or Accounting Program desired
  • 2 years’ experience in bookkeeping/accounting desired
  • Excellent Computer skills and adept in Microsoft Office programs
  • Quick books Accounting Program desired
  • Working in or with a First Nations community an asset
  • WMFN may be willing to train the right candidate.

Salary Range
$41,000 to $50,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
