WestMo Days is an annual 3-day cultural celebration held every third weekend of July in West Moberly, bringing the community together for a weekend full of tradition, entertainment, and fun. Since its inception in 1986, this cultural celebration has grown into a vibrant showcase of cultural games, traditional meals, live performances, and local talent.

The highlight of WestMo Days is its exciting lineup of traditional tournaments and games. Visitors can watch or participate in activities like horseshoes, pugeesee (hand games), bow & arrow, axe throwing, bannock making, dry meat cutting, leg wrestling, and tug-of-war, with cash prizes for top winners. In total, the event hosts four tournaments and twelve games, each offering prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.

When it comes to food, WestMo Days ensures no one goes hungry. The festival features a variety of food trucks and a hot concession offering a range of delicious options. The event kicks off with a free community steak dinner/feast, made possible by the West Moberly community and a sponsor. Additionally, free breakfasts are served on both Saturday and Sunday mornings, and for those craving traditional cuisine, a meat rack offers free meals, with elders eating first before it’s available to the public.

Entertainment is abundant, with up to four live performances throughout the weekend. These typically include a traditional singer, a traditional dancer, an Indigenous comedian, and an Indigenous band, representing various genres like country, folk, and rock. For those interested in showcasing their own talent, WestMo Days also hosts the West Moberly Idol talent show, featuring three age groups (6-12, 13-18, and 19+), with cash prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in each group.

WestMo Days is family-friendly, with a dedicated kids’ zone that includes bouncy castles, amusement park rides, a wandering puppet show, and face painting. There’s also a selection of local artisans selling handmade goods, such as beaded work, clothing, moccasins, and much more.

WestMo Days is a celebration of community, culture, and fun, offering something for everyone to enjoy—and everyone is welcome to attend and be part of the festivities!
